Description: One sheet of 50 seals commemorating the centennial of Louis Braille's death. Each seal shows a an illustration of a young blind girl reading a book by touch; behind her is a portion of the world and an image of Braille. Printed in the upper right corner of each seal is "Light-Bearer to the World of Darkness"; centered at bottom are the years of Braille's birth and death (1809 and 1852) and "Louis Braille Centennial." "American Foundation for the Blind, Inc., 15 W. 16th Street, New York, Serving the Blind at Home and Abroad, American Foundation for Overseas Blind, Inc. 22 W. 17th Street, New York" is printed along the front right edge of the sheet. Union mark of the Amalgamated Lithographers of America, Local no. 41, Scranton, is printed at the top right corner on the front of the sheet. Perforations are separated at the middle of the sheet from top to bottom.
