Description: Sepia-tone matte; photograph of Laura Bridgman and Oliver Caswell reading braille. Bridgman wears very dark glasses and a dark dress. Caswell wears a pleated shirt with white collar and ribbon-like tie. Bridgman appears to be guiding Caswell's hand across a braille book. Both were early deaf-blind students of Dr. Samuel Gridley Howe. Back: in black ink stamp, "BLACK, 163 Washington St., Boston" on center.
