Description: (a) Wooden Klein Pin-Type Box; dovetailed joints; lid is hinged to base with two 1.25" brass butt hinges; swiveling brass carrying handle on side of base secured between two brass posts with knurled bases; wooden tray screwed into base holds a wool padded grid, 6x10, holding 54 pieces of pin-type; the types are printer's type (an alloy of tin, lead and antimony) rectangles with a character cast into their front and a pattern formed from steel needles which mimics the character on their bottom; the lid of the case holds a hinged frame which is secured over a thick wool pad by a turned wooden peg at the bottom; the vertical sides of the frame have grooved brass rails screwed on top, each pierced with 25 holes, engraved at the top of each rail is "275"; (b) wooden and brass writing guide has brass fittings on each side with two posts that fit into the holes on the rails of the hinged frame in the lid; engraved into the wings of the fittings, "275"; the writing guide fits neatly into slight cutouts at the top of the base of the box for storage. Types include A-Z (note the both the A and the Ä lack their horizontal crossbar), 0-9, accented vowels Ö,Ü, Ä, punctation marks period, comma, apostrophe, colon, exclamation mark, open and closed quotes, open and closed parentheses, operators plus, minus, and equals
