Description: This is a prototype of a computerized braille writer/printer that was made by modifying a Howe Press Perkins Brailler. The brailler sits atop a gray metal box that houses the power supply, computer chips and a small microprocessor. An on/off switch, volume control, power cord, RS232 port, output/input jacks, and a fuse cap are located on the back panel. On the right is an exposed chain that connects with the motor in the box. The brailler has plastic braille keys and a spacing key on the front. The original Perkins Brailler label is attached to the front.
