Administrative History: June Morris served as Executive Vice President of the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) from 1989 until her retirement in 1996. She was the first person to be named a vice president at the company. Morris began working at APH in 1959, when she joined the Educational Research Department as a research assistant. She was promoted to assistant director of the department in 1976, became the acting director in 1977, and director in 1978, continuing in that position while also serving as executive vice president. In January and February of 1989, prior to becoming vice president, she was the acting-CEO of APH, between the administrations of Carson Nolan and Tuck Tinsley.
