Administrative History: James Max Woolly (1914-1997) had a long and distinguished career in the blindness field. He was with the Arkansas School for the Blind from 1939 until his retirement in 1982, where he served as teacher, principal and superintendent. He was a board member of Lions World Services for the Blind; a member of the Pulaski Heights Lions Club, serving as its president in 1947; president of the American Association of Instructors of the Blind, 1962-1964; and served on the boards of the American Foundation for the Blind and the Arkansas Lighthouse for the Blind. For many years he was an Ex Officio Trustee of the American Printing House for the Blind.
