Administrative History: The Instituut tot Onderwijs van Blinden (Institute for the Education of the Blind) was established in 1808 in Amsterdam and was the first school for blind children in the Netherlands. Circa 1932, the school relocated to Huizen. In 1988, it would merge with other blindness institutions in the country and become a part of the non-profit blindness organization Visio.
