Administrative History: The Industrial Home for the Blind was established in Brooklyn, New York in 1893, to provide vocational training and employment of adult blind persons in New York State. The Home was incorporated in 1895. Services would expand to provide rehabilitation and social services to blind children and adults. In 1985, the name was changed to Helen Keller Services for the Blind.
