Title varies: Annual Report . . . of the Indiana Institute for the Education of the Blind (1847). Annual Report of the . . . Indiana Institution for the Education of the Blind (1898). Annual Report of the . . . Indiana School for the Blind (1907). Printed reports document the school's management, building, and student activities, and list the school's officers and staff. Financial information is included. Students are listed up through the 1954 report. Some reports include black-and-white photo illustrations. Tipped-in specimen of raised line letter 1st and 2nd reports, and of embossed sheet music in the 4th report. Frontispiece of school building "Designed & Drawn by F. Costigan" in the 4th annual report and in several subsequent reports. Illustrations of building floor plans appear in 22nd report. Also included: a separate 13-page article issued in the Indiana Journal Extra, July 28, 1853; the "Report of W.H.H. Terrell, Financial Secretary to the Governor, May 1864" regarding sufficient funds to keep "benevolent institutions" of Indiana open; and the Enrolled Act, No. 112, originating in the Indiana House of Representatives and passed by the state's General Assembly in 1879, which relates in part to the Indiana school.

Administrative History: The Indiana Institute for the Education of the Blind was established in Indianapolis in 1847. In 1907, the name changed to Indiana School for the Blind. In 1930, the school relocated to its present site on North College Avenue.
