Description: Framed, original hand-painted illustration shows a silver shield with an inverted V at center. Two black hounds are at the corners above the inverted V, and 1 larger black hound is centered beneath it. The left half of the inverted V is red and shows the head of a stag near the outer edge; the right half is blue and shows the head of a stag near the outer edge. Another stag's head is at the center point. On top of the shield, at center, rests a circular braid of red and silver. To the right of this is a red hound standing on its hind legs, holding a pair of silver antlers. Beneath the shield is a gold banner with "1578" in black numerals. "Huntoon" appears in black letters, centered beneath the banner. At the bottom right corner is handwritten "F. Hodges - Fecit - Nov 25- 1930." Benjamin Bussey Huntoon (1836-1919) was superintendent of both the American Printing House for the Blind and the Kentucky School for the Blind. Frame is painted black with two lines of gilt trim along top and bottom. A green paper label on the back, at top center, has gold embossed lettering and trim. Lettering reads: "Lyman Bros. Indianapolis." A metal wire for hanging is attached to the frame with nails. Paper with illustration has yellowed and has slight stains along the top and right edges; frame is worn; paper backing has several tears and exposes a wood backing behind the picture and some of the silver metal fasteners that hold the wood in place.
