Students at large desks are woodworking, facing the front of the classroom. Two desks in the foreground are not being used. Three completed shelving units sit on a table at the front of the classroom; woodworking tools are visible on all desk tops. Sloyd education (mostly woodworking or other handicrafts) was considered important curriculum at the Institution.
