History/Provenance: This technical manual was used at the American Printing House for the Blind. It was stored in the APH Machine Shop and transferred in 2008 from APH Salvage to the Museum. The American Printing House for the Blind used an IBM 29 Card Punch Model A as part of a computerized braille system. The device produced punched braille cards for use with an APH modified IBM 056 Verifier. The verifier read the cards and activated an automated stereograph machine, which stamped braille onto metal embossing plates for use in braille printing presses.
