Description: Rectangular aluminum slate; hinged on left; raised finger grip on left to ease opening; oval cutout in middle designed to omit the spool hubs on a cassette tape label (see Provenance notes below); fourteen braille cells on top and botttom lines; four cells on each side of window; stamped below hinge, "HOWE PRESS/WATERTOWN, MASS."; sample of white labeling material is in jaws of slate.
