Accession Number: 2001.77
Description: Thirteen lightweight wooden squares in original white cardboard box. Each square has a single letter stamped in black ink on the front and reverse. Raised brass dots provide the braille equivalent on one side only. The letters that are represented in both print and braille are C, E, N, S, and T. The letter F appears on the opposite side of all but one square that instead has the letter J. The letters F and J have been scribbled over with red crayon or pencil. A label with the word "Homonym" handwritten in ink is attached to the top of the box lid. "3 Words" is handwritten on the inside of the lid. The squares can be arranged to create the homonyms "sent", "cent", and "scent".
