History/Provenance: Received with John Milton Society for the Blind (JMS) records from the American Foundation for the Blind. Helen Keller was honored at a banquet hosted by the American Foundation for Overseas Blind (AFOB) on February 1, 1955, three days before her scheduled visit to Far East nations. AFOB was a co-sponsor of the trip. In 1979, JMS made copies of the negative and photo for a New York Times article.
