Description: Index typewriter enclosed in a wooden case with a hinged lid; instead of keys, typewriter has one index pointer manually moved into place over a metal index plate with 81 holes; beneath index plate is card with print numbers, letters (upper and lower case), and punctuation marks that are visible through the holes; user places the pointer over correct hole and presses down, causing a rubber sheet, molded with corresponding print characters and sandwiched between index plate and bottom plate, to press onto paper through single hole in bottom plate; typewriter, which is fastened by screws into the bottom of the case, can be raised and positioned at 3 different angles; decorative brass tacks are inserted into the top corners of the case.
