Description: Custom-fit, wool/polyester blend uniform in navy blue consists of a jacket, skirt, and gold clip-on tie. (.1) Double-breasted jacket features two rows of three gold-colored metal buttons, each decorated with a raised lyre; two front faux-pocket flaps; single shoulder straps in light gray, each fastened near the collar with a small version of the gold-colored metal button; a turn-down collar backed with a black felt lining; notched lapels; hidden shoulder pads; perspiration pads of the outer material attached inside, beneath the armholes; jacket is fully lined, in a black material, with a black cord hanging loop below the collar; lining has an inner front pocket on the right, at chest level; an inner front pocket on the bottom left; a 4-inch vent in the back center seam; one black plastic button sewn behind the middle front button; and two small, black plastic buttons sewn behind the middle and bottom front buttons; manufacturer's label, made of the lining material, attached to the upper inner pocket, "Stanbury & Company Uniforms, Kansas City, Mo." in gold metallic thread; white cotton label on the other inner pocket has the same manufacturer's information printed on it, is ink-stamped "17," and has the number 516A-3 written in black marker; ornamental trim on jacket includes flat, gold cording along outer edge of collar and shoulder straps; and, on each cuff, a light gray bar with gold cording, looped once at center, above and below each bar; shoulder patch of light blue/gray felt with gold thread trim has the following words centered on it in navy thread: MINNESOTA BRAILLE AND SIGHT SAVING SCHOOL (.2) A-line skirt has a concealed back zipper of metal and a single, black plastic button above to secure the waistband; cotton label, "Stanbury & Company, Kansas City, Mo." and includes a uniform number, and size and school identification information: 516A-4, "HT - 5' 4", WT - 135, Sex: G, Size: 28-30, 12, Name: Braille School, Date: 10-21-57. (.3) Tie has opaque plastic clip; cloth label on reverse identifies material as 50 percent dacron, 50 percent polyester.
