Scope & Content: Holdings: 1851/1852, 1855, 1858-1860, 1866, 1869-1880, 1886/1888-1888/1890, 1895/1896-1903/1904, 1924/1925. Printed reports document the school's management, building, and student activities. Reports list school officers, staff, and students, and the school's financial receipts and disbursements. Reports for 1858-1860 include an engraved illustration of the school building. Black-and-white photo illustrations appear beginning with the 1897/1898 report. Fiscal year varies.

Administrative History: The Georgia Academy for the Blind, located in Macon, was founded in 1851 and incorporated in 1852. A separate department was opened in 1882 for blind African American students. The school was integrated in 1965.
