Description: Black-and-white glossy reprint of a head-and-shoulders photo of an elderly Frank Battles, who has a full mustache and is dressed in a suit with vest and bow tie. Battles served as the first president of the John Milton Society for the Blind (originally named the John Milton Foundation), from its founding in 1928 until his death in 1932. Stamped in blue ink on reverse: "John Milton Society, 475 Riverside Drive, New York 27, N.Y."
