Description: Certificate of appreciation is in a wood frame with clear glass. It has a centered handwritten inscription, in brown ink on ivory stock, that reads: "We sons and daughters of the Story Sidewalks in St. Germain-en-Laye et Marly-Le-Roi wish to declare from this day that you, Stanley Suterko, Technique Giver, Direction Director and Route Creator, Drop-Off Dropper, Curve Crasher, Blindfold Basher, Relaxation Relayer, Straight Line Straightener, Squaring Off Squarer, Anti Wrist Roller, Pacemaker and Longtime Missionary of the Long Cane be known as Knight of the Order of the Long Cane in grateful appreciation for all those mobile days in France in the autumn of MCMLXVIII." Top corners are decorated with a hand-drawn and hand-colored leaf illustration. At top center is a hand-drawn and hand-colored illustration of a crest with three blindfolds at center and two long canes extending from behind. Below the inscription are 12 postage stamps, arranged in 3 rows of 4, from various countries, and beneath each is the signature of one person. At bottom right is a red wax seal with gold ribbon. On the reverse is a wire for hanging and the framer's label.
