Scope & Content: Sepia-toned postcards are unused and divided on reverse. Each postcard features a photo of a different building erected in 1951 on the campus of the Virginia School for the Deaf, Blind and Multi-Disabled at Hampton. Buildings are shown from the front and include: Bradford Hall, a classroom building (.11); Girls' Dormitory (.12); Price Hall, boys' dormitory (.13); and Stryker Hall, kitchen and dining facilities (.14).

Administrative History: The Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind at Hampton was established in 1906 by an act of the Virginia General Assembly and officially opened in 1909 as the Virginia School for Colored Deaf and Blind Children.The school's first white students were enrolled in the early 1970s. The name of the school was changed in 1980 to Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind at Hampton. Circa 2000, the name changed to Virginia School for the Deaf, Blind and Multi-Disabled at Hampton. The school closed in 2008 when it was consolidated with the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind located in Staunton.
