History/Provenance: The Howe Publishing Society for the Blind was organized in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1911 to produce braille books for blind readers. Later the philanthropic society would publish large type books for use in Sight-Saving Classes. It merged with the Cleveland Society for the Blind in 1926. Book was transferred to the APH Museum from the APH Research Department following the 2012 retirement of Eleanor Pester, in whose office the book had been kept.
