Description: First day of issue postage stamp and cachet envelope honoring the 100th Anniversary of Helen Keller's birth. Stamp features a color illustration of Anne Sullivan signing into Helen Keller's hand. Printed at bottom of stamp: "Helen Keller, Anne Sullivan." On white envelope bearing a June 27, 1980, Tuscumbia, AL cancellation, a cachet showing the same illustration as the stamp, stylized, in black-and-white. Printed text at top left of envelope: "100th Anniversary 1880-1980 (Story inside.)." Text, at bottom, in both print and embossed braille: "Helen Keller Born June 27, 1880 Tuscumbia, Alabama." Two inserts, one in print and one in braille, provide brief information about Keller and her teacher/companion, Anne Sullivan. Includes glassine outer enclosure.
