Description: Engraving shows a pastoral scene of a young sister and brother who have stopped at a stream, where the boy is getting a drink of water. In the bottom margin is printed the caption "Die Bergquelle," at center; plate no. "13," at bottom right, and "1852," at bottom left. In smaller print, above the caption, is printed "Stahlstich v. Carl Mayer's Kunst-Anstalt in Nurnberg." Three leaves from the book are also included, which contain the story "The Blind Man," p. 97-102, about a kind, elderly blind man named Christopher. The engraving is of a scene that the story's narrator and Cousin Christopher encounter while traveling.
