Administrative History: Enchanted Hills Camp is a recreational retreat and campground for blind, visually impaired, deaf-blind and multi-disabled children and adults. Located in Napa Valley, California, Enchanted Hills was established in 1950 under the auspices of Recreation for the Blind, Inc., a non-profit organization founded in 1947 by Rose Resnick, who was blind, and Nina Brandt. When Recreation for the Blind merged in 1958 with the San Francisco Association and Center for the Blind, creating the San Francisco Lighthouse for the Blind (today known as the LightHouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired), Enchanted Hills became one of the services offered by the merged agency.
