Description: Brass embossing plate, map of Palestine from Beirut on the north to the Dead Sea on the South; mountains indicated by parallel lines, rivers by recessed lines, political boundaries and the edges of bodies of water by raised outlines, cities by small circles and the capital, Jerusalem, by an asterix; captions in New York Point; areas of some raised lines have been reinforced and repaired on the reverse with hot metal; many captions show evidence of having been flattened with tongs and relocated or corrected; legend in lower right reads, "Map of Palestine/Scale 17 Statute Miles to one inch.
