Summary/Description: A collection of Bennett H. Young's stories about a goose named Dr. Gander, with whom the author converses, and other animals on his farm. Published posthumously. Includes two photos of the elderly, mustached Young telling his Dr. Gander stories to blind school children at the Kentucky School for the Blind, where he was president of the board of trustees: one shows him seated, at center, in a school room, surrounded by children; the other shows him sitting beside the main steps of the school building, where the school children are assembled. Frontispiece photo shows the author seated on a horse, with caption: "General Bennett H. Young of Youngland, Commander-in-Chief United Confederate Veterans, 1913-1916." Foreward by Irvin S. Cobb. Green clothbound boards; white-stamped lettering and illustration of gander on front cover. Stamped in black ink on front endpapers: "Mrs. S. T. Ragland, Paris, Tenn."
