The man on the left is a U.S. soldier in uniform, and the other four men are Korean civilians who are dressed in business suits. Reverse: piece of thin paper attached with adhesive. It reads: "U.S. Army Photo -- 19 March 1953. Dignitaries at the ground-breaking ceremonies for the new Taegu school for the Dumb and Blind included Maj. Gen. Thomas W. Herren, Commanding General, KComZ, who turned the first shovel of dirt; Gov. Shin Hyon Don; Mr. Kim Jong Hwan, Mayor of Taegu City; Mr. Kim Jung O, Chairman of the Taegu City Council and Mr. Lee Yung Shik, superintendent of the school, now known as the Taegu Light House.
