History/Provenance: The American Printing House for the Blind started producing the duPont Series of print/braille books for children in 2004. The series was made possible through a grant from the Jessie Ball duPont Foundation. Designed to promote family reading, each hardcover book, chosen from a classic children's storybook, featured clear overlay pages of braille text bound in with the matching standard-print pages. Eight books were produced in the series. In 2007, they became a part of APH's Chrissy Collection. This copy of Dear Santa was transferred to the APH Museum by APH Field Services.
