History/Provenance: Matilda Ziegler Magazine for the Blind was first published in 1907. It was distributed freely and initially produced in New York point and braille. Later, and for several years, it was also offered in Moon type. Circa 1966, it would only be produced in braille. A general-interest magazine, its contents included current events, literature, and poetry, and information specifically related to blindness and visual impairment. The last braille issue was published in November 2009, as the magazine became an online-only publication. It ceased in 2014.
