Description: Illustration is printed on the disbound cover page of the May 4, 1869 issue (number 23) of Chatterbox, a weekly children's serial. It shows an engraving of a seated blind man who is reading a book of the Bible by touch and aloud to three young boys standing by him. The caption "Blind" is printed beneath the illustration. On the reverse is printed page 178, which contains an article, "Blind Folk," in the first column. The article briefly describes the engraving and the tactile systems then in use.
