Administrative History: In 1972, at the request of the American Printing House for the Blind (APH), the American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) sent APH a copy of the installation plan for the sound-isolation room used at AFB for sound recording. The drawing was created by Industrial Acoustics Company, Inc., designer and manufacturer of the prefabricated sound-isolation room. APH was gathering information about sound proofing for its Talking Book Studio Department and, in 1979, would purchase six isolation-sound rooms (booths) from IAC.
