Administrative History: Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind (CLB) is a non-profit organization founded in 1900. Originally called the Polytechnic Institute for the Blind, CLB continues to provide programs and support services to blind and visually impaired persons in the metropolitan D.C. area, which today include adaptive technology, professional and career services training, low vision services, rehabilitation, counseling, children’s services, independent living and older adult programs.
