Administrative History: The Colorado Instructional Materials Center for the Visually Handicapped was established in 1970 as a resource center to provide braille and large print textbooks and instructional aids to blind and visually impaired students (pre-school to high school level) enrolled in Colorado's public schools. Located at the Colorado School for the Deaf and the Blind, in Colorado Springs, the Center also maintains an annual registration of the state's legally blind students who are at less than college level and registers them with the Federal Quota Program administered by the American Printing House for the Blind.
