Administrative History: In 1903, sisters Florence and Georgia Trader founded an industrial home for blind women in Mt. Healthy (now a part of metropolitan Cincinnati), Ohio, that they called the Clovernook Home for the Blind. Employment was initially provided in Clovernook's broom and weaving shops. In 1914, a braille printing shop was opened. Services would expand to include social services, instructional training, and a manufacturing center. The organization name would change to the Clovernook Home and School for the Blind and, later, to Clovernook Center for the Blind and Visually Impaired.
