Description: Glossy black-and-white photograph shows the Kentucky School for the Blind (KSB) student cast and KSB teacher Richard McDowell on the stage where the play was performed. Three steps lead up to the stage. A boy, in the foreground at bottom left, is sitting on the top step, holding a cake. An open theater curtain and valance frame the sides and top of the photo. The stage backdrop, visible behind the cast, has a partially open door at left of center and, to the right, palm fronds and flowers on vines. A portion of a wooden fence is visible, at right, in front of some of the students. Reverse of photo is blank. Students identified in photo: Joan Balot (nee Britt), at center, in dark dress, standing next to McDowell.

History/Provenance: Donated to the APH Museum by Joan Balot, nee Britt, a student who was in the play. William H. Mootz, a teacher at KSB, directed the play (information provided by Balot).
