Description: Photograph is mounted on a lightweight, cream-colored card with square corners. Centered on the back of the card is an imprint bearing the name "Elias Wohlgemuth," beneath this is the word "Photograph." "Hamburg" is printed in the lower, right corner. "Blind School, N.B. Boy [or Bon?] in middle" is handwritten in pencil above the photographer's imprint. The photograph has a matte finish and sepia tone. The carte de visite (CdV) was popular in the United States during the Civil War era as a photographic calling card.
