Description: Black and white photo is mounted on a white card. Photo shows a bearded elderly man wearing eyeglasses with one dark lens. He is seated in an upholstered chair with ornate wood trim and has a cane in his right hand. His outfit includes a dark jacket and vest with dark trousers. To his left is a small table with either a large book or papers on top. On the reverse, at center, is printed "From P. Stabler's Photographic Establishment. 65 John Street. Opposite Central Hall. Sunderland." A logo is in the middle. Slight foxing on front in bottom margin and at center on reverse. Cartes de visite were popular during the Civil War era.
