Description: Sepia-toned photo is mounted on a white card with gilt edges. Photo shows a blind woman sitting at an organ, facing the photographer. Her left hand is resting on the keys. Her hair is worn in a bun on the top of her head. She is wearing a dark dress with a fitted bodice trimmed possibly in brocade or lace. The same trim is on the overskirt and bottom hem. She appears to have either a chain or ribbon hanging loosely around her neck with a locket(?) at the end. Handwritten at the bottom of the photo is "15c"; barely visible, the numbers and cent sign are white and were on the negative. "Photographic Studio of Will S. Thompson, Duplicates furnished at reduced rates. Conham, Tex." is printed on the back of the carte with decorative print. Cartes de visite were popular during the Civil War era.
