Description: Braille ciphering board; finger-jointed wooden trays hinged on long side, secured closed by brass swivel hooks and screw-eyelets; top tray has 18x27 cell wooden, lower tray has subdivided compartments holding lead type; type has 5mm posts which fit into the grid, and 9mm faces with raised dots in various patterns of 1-4 dots; attached tag reads, "Wiener Zifferrechenapparat mit Brailletypen, Grosses Format" and "Arithmetic apparatus, with braille type, largest size, received from Alex Mell, Vienna, January, 1910. Price paid $5.39.".
