Accession Number: 2002.61

Description: Colorized sepia print which shows a young blind girl in white gown listening intently to Beethoven playing a piano or harpsichord; he stares intently at her face; moonlight streams in through window behind her and brightly illuminates her and partially illuminates Beethoven's lower face; the rest of the room is gloomy and dark; a crucifix adorns the wall in the background; a table to right holds a man's top hat and walking stick; inscription in German in lower right is difficult to read but definitely represents the print title rather than maker info.
