Scope & Content: Business records relating to the property (land) and building of the American Printing House for the Blind, and to special manufacturing permits. Includes an 1882 abstract of title and copies of the 1882 property deed; a 1939 exchange plant permit; correspondence and permits related to a denatured alcohol still used in manufacturing, 1947-1950; property deeds and title insurance policies from the 1970s (State Street parking lot); and miscellaneous correspondence, memos, proposals, and copies of newspaper clippings, 1913-1979. The combination for a company safe that was purchased in 1880, a circa 1926 memo regarding electrical conduits for small motors, a new construction blueprint for the 1965 addition, and a tour guide map (floor plan) are also in these records.
