Administrative History: Every year, the American Printing House for the Blind (APH) holds a meeting in Louisville, Kentucky, of its Ex Officio Trustees (EOTs). EOTS are representatives from each residential school for the blind, state department of education, or agency for the blind that participates in the Federal Quota Program, a federally-funded program through which educational materials available from APH are distributed to eligible students in the United States and U.S. territories (as established through the 1879 Act to Promote the Education of the Blind). The APH Annual Meeting includes a State of the Company address by the APH president, presentations and displays of and about APH products and services, and advisory meetings in which EOTs can advise and make recommendations to the company. There are also various awards presentations, among which is the annual APH InSights Art awards and exhibit, as well as social events. Related meetings may also be hosted by other blindness organizations whose members are in Louisville for the APH Annual Meeting.
