Description: Andy Chappell graduated from Columbia University. He arrived in Louisville in 1948 to work in radio and television broadcasting. Andy ran the all-night show on WAVE, which he joined in 1953 as a staff announcer. He turned to selling real estate in 1974. In 1953 he did a little volunteer narration for APH, and, in 1956, began to narrate two or three times a week. By 1959 he was doing it for pay, and in 1963 he started narrating Guideposts Magazine, which he continued to do for thirty years. He read over 500 books for APH, ranging from Dr. Seuss’s Oh the Places You’ll Go to the World Book Encyclopedia. Andy retired in 2000.
