Description: Black-and-white glossy. American children from the nearby military installation stand on and in front of a porch with Japanese children from the Yokohama Christian School for Blind Children. Many of the children are smiling, and some are sticking their tongues out. The number "34" is handwritten in blue ink in the bottom right of the picture. Reverse is blank. Descriptive paper: handwritten in blue ink, "34. 9.g children living in gov. houses next to the school love to come over and play with the pupils, for mothers feel the happy spirit there. While waiting for our army car to return for us, 2 American boys came in each had a play pistol + one a hood brimmed hat. Smaller one only about 7, brandishing his revolver. The older boy said they were playing cowboy. Miss Gasapi [sp?] (interpreter) said please, give me our gun that I may look at it, but he refused waving it around and saying 'no I've got to shoot people.' I looked at her + shook my head + said what a pity for the parents to allow their children to play at taking life, American Xtian parents many [?] are discouraging toys that rep. war, but Army people do not always feel the same. Very quietly she replied, 'I understand.'"
