Summary/Description: A 4-page issue that includes a brief article on the second page, column 2, about a new "Writing Machine for the Blind," invented by Mr. Thurber of Norwich, Connecticut, called the Mechanical Chirographer. It was designed for blind users and embossed raised letters on paper. According to the article the machine was identical to one invented in 1838 by C.H. Eisenbrant of Baltimore.
