- Bronze-colored medal has an engraving of an angel holding a lighted torch and the inscription "The American Foundation for the Blind" on the front; reverse is inscribed "For Outstanding Service to the Blind," with "Donald Blasch/1977" engraved beneath; embossed half-wreath of leaves is at bottom; signature cast into obverse below the angel, "Parmenia"; medal is framed in a molded wooden shadow box and rests in a Plexiglass cradle with a mirrored background.
