Administrative History: Atlanta Area Services for the Blind (AASB) was formed in 1973 through the merger of two agencies serving blind residents of Atlanta, Georgia: Community Services for the Blind and the Metropolitan Atlanta Association for the Blind. AASB, a private agency providing rehabilitation services, was renamed the Center for the Visually Impaired in 1987.
