History/Provenance: Dr. Cavert was the American Secretary of the World Council of Churches. Dr. Blake was President of the National Council of Churches of Christ in the USA. Dr. Smith was the General Secretary of the John Milton Society. Dr. Berg was Executive Secretary of the Board of Domestic Missions and Vice President of the John Milton Society. Machiko Toi was the first Japanese woman who was blind or visually impaired to earn B.A. and M.A. degrees. Catherine Po Cho was headmistress of St. Michael's School for the Blind in Rangoon, Burma. Toi and Cho had received scholarships from JMS to training at the Perkins School.
