Braille Readers Theater

Adults, Children

The Museum’s Braille Readers Theater presents The Bald Soprano, by Eugene Ionescu, a classic of absurdist theater. It’s a freewheeling satire of mid-twentieth century genteel married life, stuffed with non-sequiturs, contradictions, and delight in words as sounds, not communication. Our actors are all blind or visually impaired. With minimal scenery and costumes, they use words, gestures, and expressions to make the play come to life. This is the play whose opening night in March 2020 was canceled because of the quarantine. The actors insisted on its revival. Free to the public, but registration is required.
